A hungry dog is a dog that will work for you. (please don’t feed just prior to class)
Bring plenty of treats: Meat scraps, cheese, hot dogs, and freeze dried liver will get MUCH better results than plain old dog biscuits.
Make sure that your dog has had a chance to go to the bathroom prior to class.
All dogs must wear a buckle collar to class, additional training aids are head halters, martingale collars, and harnesses. (prong collars, slip collars, and electronic collars are not allowed.)
Forceful training methods are not allowed but patient and persistence is encouraged!
A 6 ft lead is required – sorry, retractable leashes will not work!
Be aware that some dogs build tension when on leashes with their owners, so please respect other owners and their dogs by giving each dog space and asking before allowing any dogs to greet.
Dogs must be on leash at all times unless otherwise instructed by the instructor.
